War Is Hard / Peace Is Easy

While listening to President Obama talk on the radio while driving home this evening there was a question about peace in Israel. Obama mentioned that on Saint Patricks day he hosted dignitaries from Ireland, specifically current leaders and an ex Irish Republican Army head. He touted this as a sign that peace is possible even between long time sworn enemies.

Actually, I would take it even further and say this...

War is hard...it's peace that is easy.

How is peace easy? All you have to do is set down your weapons. In war, there is much pain, anger, and death. According to defenselink.mil the United States spends over $500 billion in defense spending. (If i'm reading this document right. These budget docs are insane!) Imagine what wonderful things could be done with that sum of money. End hunger? No more homeless? What a world that would be...

Peace is easy...
