Rumor has it Sirius is in serious trouble. Serius XM Radio that is...
A
Seattle PI Article suggests that
the company could file for chapter 11 protection as early as this Tuesday, February 17, 2009.
Apparently the company has some 20 million listeners to their programs. Who Knew?!?!
Sounds like there might be some sort of battle going on for control of the company itself as well to make it all even more like
an espisode of
all my children. The problem is if the company goes under that's 20 million
suckers that bought the equipment needed in order to listen to the service. I really have no idea if they can be utilized to listen to the
standard am and fm bands. I would certainly hope so.
The stupidity of that potential reminds me of when Virgin Electronics, yes...that
virgin...the company run by
Sir Richard Branson, started
selling MP3 Players. My wife bought me their 5 gig version. Not a terrible MP3 player at the time. The problem was, they stoppped making
them and shut down their damn MP3 music store where I was buying all my song for it from. MAN was I pissed. Their loss though. After several
months I gave up on the device entirely and bought myself an
iPod Touch. SUCKERS! Take that sir knight!!!
Sorry...mid blog postings tangent over...back to something sirius...
In my opinion, any company stupid enough to pay
Howard Stern $500 million dollars for a 5 year deal is too stupid to
stay in business anyways.
Seriously, who cares!
Just saying...
