On January 15 2009, US Airways had a plane go down due to a bird strike in both engines but the pilots performed a text book water landing and all
155 passengers got out alive. It was to become known as the "
miracle on the hudson".
22 days later on February 5 2009, US Airways
announces it would
start to charge $7 for pillows and blankets, lovingly called their "power nap sack".
Not to be out down Continental Airlines will start offering "love sacks" for their 15 minute "mile high" club flights in
Las Vegas. What
happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right? (That's a little joke by the way...)
So US Airways goes from hero to money whore in only 22 days...
But hey, dont worry. I hear life preservers are still free.
Just saying...
