As the owner of a iPod Touch I've already had to deal with
how to fix the ipod touch white screen of death. Lately
however because I use the wifi connection extensively I've started to notice the connection
completely drop. The icon in the upper left corner which lets me know I am connected
to a network just goes away.
I noticed this started to happen after I had started to connect to other wifi networks at
other locations then my home. For example, the local
Tully's coffee shop with
free wifi...(are you listening Starbucks?!?)
At any rate, it was after I had connected to this and 1 or two other locations that I started to notice
the wifi connection drops while at my home.
The fix I found was to use the "reset network settings" function on the device. Since doing so I have not had a single problem. Granted,
I have not yet connected to any other networks yet. If I do so and start to have the problem again, well, then perhaps we have
found the issue so Apple can fix the issue once and for all without these work arounds.
Here are the steps to resetting the network settings on the iPod Touch.
1. Touch your SETTINGS icon...
2. Press the GENERAL tab...
3. Scroll to the bottom and touch the RESET tab...
4. Touch the RESET NETWORK SETTINGS tab...
You will end up having to re-enter your network settings information so be sure to have that information handy such as the name of your
wifi network, any password associated with logging in because you ALL should have your wifi networks password secured, right?
Hopes this helps you like it did me!
