Car Turn Signals Should Not Be Red

Has anyone else noticed on the roads these days that more and more cars are coming with red turn signals? While this might seem normal to younger drivers, if memory serves turn and brake signals used to be two different colors.

What i've noticed is that it is actually getting harder to note when someone is actually requesting to come into my lane. It takes a moment to register that they are not simply applying their brakes, but they are looking to merge over. I think this is totally unsafe.

I would humble make a request to all car companies. Please stop making turn signals red.

For example, my Honda has a horrible drivers side blind spot up front and if I see a red light going on/off in my side vision i'm thinking the driver is just applying their brakes. I'm running into more and more cases where the person actually wants to move over. I do not believe I am the only one with this problem as I've taken note of a lot more people having to "cut off" a driver even though they have had their signal on for a little while. People are just not noticing them I think.
