Back in later half of 2008 we were all hearing about AIG and how if the Government did not
bail it out it
would bring a collapse of the United States financial markets. Roughly $180 billion dollars later and AIG is still
in the news is negative ways.
Today, Sunday March 15th comes the revelations that the company plans to utilize $165 million dollars of the bail out money for bonuses.
Bonuses?
How fricken stupid ARE these people?
These people are a major player in the financial turmoil that has wrecked havoc on the U.S. and the
world economy and they have the
absolute witless brain power to think bonuses should be awarded?
I suppose in the grand scheme this should come as no surprise. Shortly after receiving some of the bailout funds their executives went on a
nice cozy $440,000 tax payer
resort trip in California. Now the other
shoe drops with payments of
$165 million dollars in bonuses to executives, which
apparently are just a part of a bigger $450 million dollar bonus package that was to be paid.
The excuse is that they were contractually obligated to the payment. What about the MORAL obligations to the tax payers who saved your ass?
Are these people completely stupid or are they completely smart? Get the bail out funds for what they KNOW is a company that will eventually go
under, so that they can get the funds to pay out their bonuses. Brilliant...
If there is a God these people will all rot in Hell.
That being said, it is my opinion that all aig bailout funds should be immediately revoked and returned to the U.S. Government. The funds are
clearly not going to be utilized in an appropriate way. Let the damn thing crush under it's own stupidity. It's no less then they deserve. AIG
can now join the ranks of
Enron.
