So the big
news in
Washington State today is the fact that
Boeing is going to create a new 787 Dreamliner line in South Carolina instead
of creating a 2nd line in
Everett Washington where a bulk of their assembly work is currently done.
Bad news for Boeing employees. Bad news for Washington political figures like the governor, and potentially bad news
for the machinists union.
Will the failure of Washington State to win a 2nd dreamliner assembly line make the 787 Boeings union buster?
You cant help but figure there are a lot of employees who will blamn the union reps. Instead of protecting their jobs they
potentially just lost a large number of them to another state, and if you listen to the talk, this could be the 2nd sign that
Boeing's master plan is to leave the state all together.
The first shot across Washington's bow was the loss of the Boeing headquarters to
Chicago. Now South Carolina, which by
all admissions has been turning out some seriously crappy work, gets the 2nd line.
This was just my OPINION of course, nothing more.
