A
komo news article asks if the fall in gas prices will
have us all fleeing our dreams of electrical cars and rushing out to by the latest hummer.
With the U.S. economy on the brink I dont think there is much danger in this thought.
Lets face it, the american car companies have long been behind the 8 ball when it comes to giving people what they have
been buying in droves from the japanes auto makers...fuel efficient 4 banger cars. I dont need, or want, a racing machine
just to go to work and back. With 2 cars in the family, both Honda's with good gas millage...i'm already forking out roughly
$150-200 a month JUST ON GAS! Give me a break.
You all know what this means because your probably doing the same thing. Eating out less. Staying home and renting a movie vs. dropping $40+ dollars
at a movie theater. It probably sucks to own a restaurant or coffee joint (Starbucks) these days as people are holding onto
their cash, or simply have LESS of it due to gas prices, etc.
With individuals coming up with cars that go over 100mpg on their own time, perhaps this might finally be the wake up call
american auto makers need.
I do have one question, however. With everyone wanting to do electric cars....has anyone figured out if our electric grid can even handle
such a surge in electrical need? ie: We all plug in our cars at the same time at night...will the lights stay on? I'm just ask'n....
