At a recent family vacation in Disneyland I got to experience the best in people, and the worst in people.
While on our recent
disneyland vacation we noted that Disney is run like a well oiled machine where there are no employees but "cast members". There was only 1 employee that had something
of a frown on her face and this was when she was having a little difficulty communicating with some japanese tourist. When I came up to the line
though she slapped her smile back on. All employees are helpful, including the well placed janitorial staff that cleans up trash the moment it seems to
hit the ground. The bathrooms are also hyper clean which is odd since you never actually see anyone cleaning them.
Now on to the worst. I witnessed a lot of line jumping. Now I do not wish to come off like I'm bashing any particular group of people BUT, 99% of
the folks I saw line jumping where mexican. There was one german couple and one bunch of japanese kids that jumped over ropes to beat people through "the maze" of
ropes they setup on some rides. Here was the part that bugged me the most though about this line jumping. When ever someone in the line or an employee would "challenge" them
on what they just did...they would immediatly go into the "no habla ingles" routine. The funny part? As soon as they got to the ride itself they
amazingly learn how to speak perfect english to the attendant. Now I know the lines are LONG and you could probably
learn another language in that time but we ALL know
they are just scam'n people.
