Have you all seen this X-1 electric car being created by
Wrightspeed Inc? I saw a story on the local PBS
station where this sucker gets roughly 170 mpg equivalent and goes 0-60 in 3 seconds. It is just a concept car right now but I heard a price tag of roughly $120,000. Not sure if this is for the concept version or the production version of the car that will be based upon it.
Either way, I hear it uses the same batteries found in computer laptops and can go 100 miles or so per charge. If U.S. car companies want to have any future, this is the type of
technology they should be buying and improving upon with their massive bank accounts behind it. THIS is the type of car that could reduce if not utimately break out need
for foreign oil. Think of how much money could be saved from a miliary stand point by not having to police/protect the worlds oil supply.
This is COOL stuff!
