Wii. I admit it. I thought this was the dumbest name possible for a game console. Of course their
are the obvious jokes going around in blogs; "My mom says i'm playing with my wii too much". But I wont go there.
Instead I will comment on the obvious.
Where the hell can a person even FIND the console?
I read last week the company behind the
Wii is already promising holiday shortages of the console itself. Their suggestion?
"If you see one, buy it". Is this a genious marketing scheme or a botched production schedule? We have friends who have already
purchased the hand controllers and several games. Problem is, they cant even find the console. All I ever see in the stores
is the accessories. Pathetic.
We live in a "I want it right now" society, like it or not. If you are going to produce a product you better be able to meet demand
or all you do is risk missing out on potential customers. I bought a
PS2. Why? Lots of games, and no shortage of stores that
carry the gear. Sure, it is not the latest and greatest, but at least I'll be playing a game tonight while everyone else
will just dream of playing with their
Wii.
(Ok, I went there!)
