Potter Marathon
So there I was...a grown man on Friday night around 11:45pm rushing to my local Barnes and Noble store to pick up the last Harry Potter book. Now I figured there would be a few excited people like opening night of the old Batman movie that I saw with a bunch of friends in my youth. Boy was I wrong. There was at least some 500+ people stuffed inside and outside of the store. I turned around in defeat and headed back to the car. NO way was I going to stand in line for hours for a book.

But wait...I recall my local 24 hour QFC around the corner from my house had setup a display. So, on the off chance I made like Harry on his broom and zipped back to my neighborhood. Arriving at 12:01 as I was walking towards the store I could see a tiny line inside and a man starting to open boxes. I made my way inside and took my place inline with the other adults who were "sent to the store by my kids". I'd say I was number 10 or so in line. An elderly Asian woman came running into the store to throw herself behind me. As he started to hand out the books we probably had around 30 people total in line.

So after only about 30 seconds in line instead of a few HOURS at the bookstore, I found myself on my couch digging into the final book about the worlds most famous boy wizard.

Now I am not the world's fastest reader. I normally take several weeks to finish a book as I only get a chance to read a few pages at a time...BUT...I made an exception. Besides sleeping and eating, I pretty much did nothing on Saturday and Sunday except read the damn book. So, after 2 long eye stressing days...I finished the book.

Sorry, you wont find any spoilers here. I just wanted to make fun of the hundreds of people that stood in line at the bookstore while I was already at home reading the book, all thanks to my local QFC!
