Movies That Need To Be Rated R

As I was going through my DVD's to find something to watch the other night a question occurred to me. "I wonder what movies would have been better if they had been done more adult and given a rated R rating?" I have given it a little thought and this is the quick list I was able to come up with. If your passing through from Digg.com, let me know what you would have put into your list up on their board.

  • Star Wars Series
  • Star Trek Series
  • X-Men Series
  • Mission Impossible Series
  • James Bond Series
  • Do not get me wrong. I very much like all of these movies, yet I think if the directors and writers had put more of a hard "edge" to the movies, (less campy?), I think it could have helped enhance the movies a bit. For example, I love the whole Star Wars universe but lets face it, George writes dialoge for 10 year olds. Imagine if the dialogue could have been more "adult" in nature, and instead of "nice" light saber battles you have something more like an old shogun movie or Kill Bill style.

Same deal with Star Trek, love the universe but it would have been nice if they could have gone a bit darker. Same with X-men and the Mission Impossible movies. Lastly, the James Bond movies I think are perhaps my longest pet peeve. Let's face it guys...Mr. Bond is a womanizing sex hungry mans man and we love him. Forget the whole PC crowd. Let's hear some good old fashion swearing and and see some naked booty! Bond movies just BEG for it.
