So it turns out that
Prince Harry will not be going to Iraq after all according to an
article I just read on
CNN.com.
Thank Goodness. I understand the young man wants to do his part, and I suppose there is still a chance he could through his political weight around and get his way, but lets utilize some brain cells here. This poor kid would have the biggest target painted on his back
then anyone else in field right now. Not only would he been in terrible danger of death or capture, but those around him would be at
a higher risk as he would be a high value target making just being around him incredibly dangerous.
On the flip side of this, could you imagine what this would do to UK / USA relations if he were killed? Oh my lord. The backlash on Bush
and the US would probably be enormous.
Tony Blair has already announced he is stepping down as Prime Minister within 12 month. This has to be due in part to his backing of Bush and how unpopular Iraq is.
