I am a
Seattle Mariners fan. As such, this means (by default) I have a common understanding about
a couple of things. (1) I hate the Yankees. (2) As with most Seattle based teams, we will choke in the end. (3) A-Rod
is a money grubbing whore who might be a good baseball player but now is public enemy to Mariners Fans, Rangers Fans, and by all
accounts even Yankees fans now. (See post season record).
That being said, today it was announced that the
Joe Torre years are officially over in New York. I actually
find it kind of sad. Why? Well, I had heard that Steinbrenner was a bit off an ass but I never new by how much. They
actually offered Joe a 1 year contract deal worth $5 million bucks. A LIFETIME amount of money for most people but less then
what he had been making.
In short...make him an offer that JOE will refuse, thus making HIM look like he ended the relationship. Not Steinbrenner and his boys.
This whole thing kinda "stinks" to me. If I were a Yankee fan, I would be asking for Steinbrenner to step down. What a weasel.
