President George Bush visited downtown Bellevue on Monday for a fundraiser for a local politician. As it turns out, it was just
around the corner from where I work so a friend and I went down to see the spectacle. Due to the fact I do a little Bush bashing
on this blog, I'm almost afraid to admit that...well...it was actually pretty damn cool being just a few dozen yards away from the Prez!
Just as we got down to the street, the police motorcade took the corner so we planted ourselves next to a police fence which was in the middle
of a crowd of Bush haters. They were screaming "murderer" and 2 people were holding a flag draped coffin. When the motorcycles took the
corner we got pretty excited because it was actually a really interesting site. Then the presidents vehicle came around the corner and
quickly went down into the garage at the hotel.
Yes, I hate the man's politics, but lets face it people. He IS the leader of the "free world" and it was fun to "see" the president and all the "fluff" that must surround him
on a daily basis.
